A 32-year-old man has been charged (video above) with the murder of his mother in Co Louth.
Tomasz Piotrwski, from CherryBrook in Ardee, appeared before Drogheda District Court yesterday.
His solicitor, Patrick Goodwin, said he had serious concerns about his client’s mental health and asked he receive appropriate attention.
Mother-of-two Elzbieta Piotrowska, who was originally from Poland, was found dead at her home on the Clonmore Estate in Arden on January 8th.
The accused was arrested a short time later and taken to Drogheda Garda station. Sargent Jim McCumiskey told the court that after Piotrowski was charged with murder on Wednesday, he replied: “no comment.”
The accused did speak during the short court hearing. He was remanded into custody and is to appear in court again on January 17th.
Judge John Cheatle said Piotrowski should receive all appropriate medical attention and granted him legal aid.
