The Cedar Lounge Revolution

Over six hundred Galway men and women mobilized during the rebellion Easter 1916, the most significant mobilization outside Dublin that week. This event is free to the public, and audience questions will be welcomed.

The event is part of NUI Galway’s, ‘Éire á Múscailt/A Nation Rising’ programme. Further details of NUI Galway’s centenary programme can be found here.

The participating historians are:

Dr Úna Newell, author of, The West must wait: County Galway and the Irish Free State 1922-32 (Manchester, 2015)
Dr Jackie Uí Chionna, author of a forthcoming biography of the legendary Galway businessman, Martin (‘Máirtín Mór’) McDonogh
Dr Conor McNamara, 1916 Scholar in Residence at NUI Galway, author of, Easter 1916 A new Illustrated History (Cork, 2015)
Dr John Cunningham, Lecturer in History at NUI Galway, author of, Galway, A town tormented by the Sea, Galway, 1790-1914 (Dublin, 2004)

About Me I studied for six months training and became certified in Exam 070-271 in May 2010 and shortly after that became certifed in Exam 070-272. I scored highly in both Exams and hope to upgrade my path to M.C.S.A. ( Server Administrator ) in the near future.I also hold Level 2 Qualifications in three subjects Microsoft Word, Microsoft Powerpoint and Microsoft Spreedsheets.
