A DANGEROUS sex offender jailed for exposing himself to three women on Friday admitted giving a false name to police.
Victor Garland (32), of Glenluce Gardens, in East Belfast, appeared in the dock of Belfast Crown Court for an arraigment hearing. He pleaded ‘guilty’ to perverting the course of justice on May 15 this year when stopped by a police officer driving whilst disqualified a Citroen C1 car on the Belmont Road in East Belfast and gave his name as David Hamill. Garland also pleaded guilty to driving whilst disqualified and driving with no insurance on the same date. David Hamill (33) of Strandburn Drive, in the east of the city, appeared in the dock alongside Garlanld. He pleaded guilty to a single charge of perverting the course of of justice. The charged stated that he “presented himsef to Strandtown police station with his driving licence and insurance documents and told police he was the driver of a Citroen C1 car which was stopped on the Belmount Road, Belfast, on May 15, 2014 knowing that he was not the driver of the vehicle on this date.”
A prosecution lawyer told judge Paul Ramsey QC that Hamill had no previous convictions while Garland was in custody as a sentenced prisioner. The judge ordered pre-sentence reports on both defendants and adjourned sentencing until next month. In June Garland was jailed for four years after he exposed himself to three women – one of whom he attacked in broad daylight and one of those three young lady’s was also a niece of mine whom I will not name but bastards like him should not be allowed to walk on the streets. They are a danger to the general public and should be locked up for life.
